Amber - MA55

Tumbled Specimen of Amber from Chiapas, Mexico.

3" x 1.25" x 1.75" / 55 grams

This rare piece of orange-red amber, i.e., fossilized tree resin, was mined from the state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico, where the veins running through the strata are estimated to be ca. 23-30 million years old. The colors in this translucent piece are predominately orange-red. This is a perfect piece for either a collector or lapidarist, who can make some beautiful cabochons from this tumbled specimen.
